About the Authors
Rebecca Metz pursued a master’s degree in Environmental Design at the University of California, Berkeley, and worked as an Environmental Planner where she analyzed socio-economic impacts and ran public involvement campaigns for large development projects, then Rebecca shifted gears and entered the high tech industry in Silicon Valley where she helped launch major corporate initiatives and held senior marketing and corporate communications roles. Prior to co-founding Green This Life, Rebecca had her own PR consulting practice, counseling start-ups and publicly traded companies. Called a trend spotter by friends and associates, Rebecca has always had a keen interest and eye for good design. A California native, Ms. Metz recently relocated to Austin, Texas, where she lives with her husband and son.
Crosby Noricks, M.A. has had an interest in eco-fashion every since she made her prom dress out of vintage slips. A fashion theorist, Crosby loves the idea of recycled and re-appropriated fashion, as well as the cultural function of clothing as it relates to identity. Crosby is the founder and editor of PR Couture, an industry blog about Fashion PR, and Event Director for Grrrrl Power, a female artist collective. She holds a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies from San Diego State University. Her master’s thesis, “From Style to Strategy: An Exploratory Investigation of Public Relations Practice in the Fashion Industry” took her to Los Angeles and New York City to interview practitioners and was the first academic study of its kind.
